A-frame (sandwich board) signs are portable, double-sided signs built for sidewalk advertising, daily specials, and event promotions. We build every frame in-house at our Havre de Grace, MD shop, offering aluminum frames for businesses that leave signs out in Chesapeake-area wind and weather, alongside lighter-duty wood and printed-panel options for occasional use. Choose chalkboard, dry-erase, or interchangeable printed inserts depending on how often you change your message. Many towns in Harford, Cecil, and surrounding counties regulate sidewalk sign placement and hours, so our in-house permit department handles that paperwork for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do A-frame signs cost?: A-frame signs typically run $150 to $500, depending on size, frame material, and whether you choose printed panels, chalkboard, or dry-erase surfaces. Replacement inserts for printed A-frames cost less than a full new sign, so swapping a promotion doesn't mean starting over.
Should I choose an aluminum, wood, or plastic A-frame?: It depends on how much wind and weather the sign will see. Aluminum frames hold up best outdoors day after day and resist rust in humid Chesapeake-area weather, while wood and printed-panel A-frames cost less and suit signs that come inside overnight or get used occasionally for events. We build every frame in our Havre de Grace shop and can walk you through which material fits how you'll actually use the sign.
Are A-frame signs allowed on sidewalks in Maryland?: Sidewalk sign rules vary by municipality — size, placement, and hours of display are often restricted, and some towns require a permit. Our in-house permit department handles that paperwork for towns across Harford County, Cecil County, and the surrounding Baltimore/Wilmington region, so you're not the one tracking down local ordinances.
How do I keep my A-frame sign from blowing over outside?: Weight and frame construction matter more than location. A properly weighted base or added sandbags keep a sign stable in typical wind, and a sturdier aluminum frame handles gusts better than lightweight plastic. We can recommend the right setup based on where the sign will sit.
